SAY something …

Say something, I'm giving up on you.
I'll be the one, if you want me to.
Anywhere, I would've followed you.
Say something, I'm giving up on you.

A beautiful song - original by A Great Big World - Ian Axel & Chad Vaccarino, cover by Alex & Sierra.  I haven't heard this song before until now, simple yet powerful and touching lyric.  another sad one...

Flirty Fleurs

It's almost end of the summer and the thought of Autumn just around the corner is exciting yet depressing at the same time for me.  I love summer!!  Most of all, I love to wear breezy summer dresses!!  I decided to throw a summer party with flower theme.  Summer + Flowers = Happiness  I planned it out and even designed a special floral party invitation.  I went to the flower district in Manhattan to pick out a group of my favorite colorful silk flowers to make handmade floral headpieces.  I had a vision that all the girls will wear their beautiful floral dresses and crown with my handmade floral headpieces.  The boys hopefully would wear a flower shirt or something light, and I will make green leis for them.  And what's a party without food, so I came up with a full menu of home cooked little pretty finger food.  The overly ambitious me always think that I can pull this off.  And I am proud to say that I did!  The party was perfect, all of my favorite ladies showed up with their brightest floral dresses.  It was a perfect end to a happy summer of 2013.

I've been experimenting listening to the music late at night on my iphone with my headsets without any noise surrounding me... and it's quite interesting because you can hear everything, from flickering of the guitar to the painful sound of the singer's voice.  It's soulful and tranquil.  I know strange since I live in the city and  you almost always have your headsets on listening to music, but during the day the noise from everyone and everything interrupt your thoughts, you get distracted from the song.  It's been a while since I let the music carry me away.

These are rather depressing songs, but they are so beautifully written and performed.

Somewhere along the Pacific Northwest

Recent travel had brought me to the most beautiful place in America.  At least for the moment, it is still fresh in my mind.  I am a hopeless romantic, so if you throw me some beautiful flowers then I am completely swooned.  And Portland had brought me just that. The landscape was amazing, it's not manicured the way you would have thought.  They are more wildly grown with the variety that I have not seen.  I was in flower garden heaven!  My friend L and I, stayed in Sunnyside at an airbnb, my first time at an airbnb and it was a very pleasant experience.  The condo was beautifully decorated with a "graphic designer" approach to it.  So we guessed as we carelessly spent our weekend at someone else's house.  It was a bit strange at first to me, you can't help but make assumptions of what kind of person lives there by the things that they own.  Then you look at your house and wonder what people would think about you if they see your space without knowing who you are.  I digress... we walked everywhere with the occasion of hopping on the bus if the route happened to work with where we were heading.  I am glad that we walked most of our trip because we were able to appreciate all the nature that's surrounding us and find unexpected beautiful things along the way.  We explored this hipster-ish city where all men wear plaid, has a tattoo and a beard.  The most important part was that we added delicious new taste to our palate.  My second part of the trip brought me to the most beautiful part of Washington!  The drive from Seattle to Spokane and back.  I took everything as if if I've been deprived from nature all my life.  Living in NY will do that to you after a while.  One of my favorite trip so far...

The wind blew me on I-90 where my husband and I took a road trip from Seattle to Spokane, Washington.  Below are photos of the Snoqualmie Falls, pure magic!
