Antique Rugs

An area rug can make or break a room, it's the final touch that ties everything together.  I found that the rug is the last piece of the puzzle to complete the room to give it warmth and to demarcate an area.  On occasion, you might have one rug that you can't live without and could be used as the inspiration for the room, then the rest of the room will have to compliment the rug.  The home that I've been working on has modern architecture style with vintage modern furniture.  We are at the last stretch of the project and in search for antique rugs.  I am still learning about the different types but here are a few of my favorite!

Note: see the color in this photo verses the one from below in the room, this shows how lighting can make a dramatic change in the rug that you choose.  Showroom image above has fluorescent light that made it appears to be much cooler.  Image below shows the same rug in the space with natural and warm light.  Just something to look out for when choosing your rug.

Copper Feel

Metal is one of the trickiest material in a space.  You want to match every details in the space so it has one unified metal color but not all products come in all metal finishes.  I appreciate designers who attempted to at least coordinate and try make it work with similar tone metals.  One of my all time favorite is copper!  It has an aged look that glisten with warmth.
